about me

My name is Gloria Sampson.

The Sampsons have lived on County Road Y since 1949.

My parents were Arlin and Eunice Sampson who farmed this land and hosted auctions on the property. Arlin was a machinist at Giddings and Lewis in Fond du Lac.

My brother Richard and I maintained close ties with the community despite moving to Alaska and Chicago/Seattle, respectively, to raise families.

I returned to live on the farm in 2015. Richard passed in 2021.

The younger generation intends to take up residence here and maintain our familial connection with this land and the community.

I am currently the treasurer of the Byron Historical Society.
